Juan was born in Seville in 1979. Later his family moves to Morón de la Frontera, a town well known for its passion for flamenco Barcelona. There he has begun his career. Juan started to dance at the age of seven in the Juan Triana’s dance academy in Moron. Afterwards dancer took classes from Juana Amaya. Two years later, he started to learn from Ramón Barrull, and then with Ana María Bueno and Carmen Montes he prepared his entrance in the Conservatory of Seville.
Juan studied in the Royal Conservatory of Seville and later dancer took classes from such famous flamenco Barcelona artists of flamenco as Ramón Barrús, Manolo Marín, Juan Amaya, Juan Ramírez, Ciro and Manolete.
When Juan de Juan was sixteen, he entered the Antonio Canales’s course. Shortly after that dancer was selected to make a test in Barcelona. As a result Juan joined the flamenco Barcelona Ballet Company of Antonio Canales. Thereby, in 1996 Juan started to learn from famous artist and soon he became the first dancer in the company.
As a part of the flamenco Barcelona Ballet Company of Antonio Canales, Juan has participated in the most important shows such as “Raíz”, “Fuerza Latina”, “Romancero gitano”, “La Casa de Bernarda Alba”, “La Cenicienta”, “Prometeo”, “Bailaor” and many others.
Juan has danced throughout Spain and in a lot international festivals of flamenco Barcelona and in the theatres such as City Centre of New York, National Theatre of Milan, Champs Elysees in Paris, National Theatre of Costa Rica, Fine Arts Theatre of Mexico, Teresa Carreño Theatre of Venezuela, National Theatre of Brazil, Opera Theatre of Poland, Bunkamura Orchard Hall Theatre of Tokyo, Sadler's Wells Theatre in London, Festival of Athens, Festival of Cairo, etc.
Along his career Juan de Juan has participated in some very important flamenco Barcelona festival such as the Spoleto Festival of USA and the Arts Festival in Hong Kong.
Starting from the year 2001 Juan started to work as soloist. His first play as soloist “Pueblos” with his own musical group was presented in the Theatre Principe in Madrid. The following year Juan release the show “Anda-Luz” in Alicante. It was a big success. Then dancer went on tour in Spain with “Anda-Luz”.
In the year 2004 dancer created his own company “Flamenco Ballet Juan de Juan”. Ballet debuted with choreography “Torero”. It was a big success.
In 2007 Juan de Juan presented the show “Inquietudes”, later the show appeared at La Verdad, with the intent to bring flamenco Barcelona closer to young audience adding to the show percussion and electric guitar to the acoustic guitars, piano and flamenco Barcelona voices.
