Amador Rojas was born to a gypsy family in Los Palacios, a place near Seville. When he was seven years old, Amador met the Maestro Farruco. From that moment he starts to learn flamenco Barcelona from famous dancer El Farruco.
With his talent, hard work and all his efforts, dancer achieved to be a soloist at the age of 12. From the beginning of his career Amador Rojas has his particular vision of flamenco Barcelona and create his own choreography.
At the age of 16 Amador starts to work with Salvador Tavora, dancing in his company. He participated in the show “Carmen” for five years. The dancer travels around the world with this company. He also participated in the flamenco festival Bienal de Flamenco in 1998. During this five years he acted in the shows of famous figures in the world of flamenco Barcelona: Montoya’s family, Manuela Carrasco and Juana Amaya.
At 21 he participated in the dance company “Eva Yerbabuena”. Amador acted in the shows “Eva”, “Cinco mujeres” and “A cuatro voces”. Also he was invited by Antonio Canales to dance in the shows “Mano a Mano”, “Los Grandes”, “Bailaor” and “La casa de Bernarda Alba” as a soloist. The dancer also has created and choreographed the plays “Zelda” and “Estatua de Maya” produced by Yuryko Yoda.
In 2008 Amador Rojas created his own dance company. He presented “Kahlo Calo”, the show based in life and work of the Mexican painter Frida Kahlo. Amador presented it the Villamarta Theatre in Cádiz for the first time in January of 2008. This show received different prestigious flamenco Barcelona dance awards such as “Artista Revelacion” at the 2008 Bienal de flamenco in Seville in the Lope de Vega Theatre.
In March of 2009 in Seville Amador presented his new show “Mandala” in Seville. Later this year he receives “la Venencia Flamenca” award from La Mistela in his native town Los Palacios.
In June of 2009 famous director Miguel Narros invited Amador Rojas to act in the play “Fedra”, where the dancer plays the character of Hipolito. Amador danced alongside Lola Greco and Enrique Morente. “Fedra” debuted in Roman Theatre in Marida and then Amador goes on very successful tour with this show.
In April of 2010 Amador Rojas presented the show “Mandala” with big success in Los Angeles. It is the first time when Amador danced as a soloist in the United States. The dancer received The Golden Lyre Musicianship Award. After that he went on tour in the United States, South America and Europe.
